Comcast is the largest cable tv and internet service provider in the US that also offers a home security and automation service, cellular services in the US and owns the commercial broadcast television network, NBC. Providing excellent service is critical for Comcast, especially under the X1 platform and Xfinity home security services, and the company has dedicated engineers to support this.
Rob Frohnapfel is a member of the Comcast Cloud Product Engineering team whose entire mission is to help their product and engineering team forget about managing infrastructure so they can focus on what they do bestwriting code and delivering products and services to market faster, at a higher quality. To this end, Rob and his team have delivered an IaaS and SDS, focused on Cloud Foundry PaaS and Kubernetes. This platform hosts 1000’s of unique applications, 10,000+ virtual machines, and containers and dozens of petabytes of storage all generating a mountain of metrics.
