How Seadrill Transformed Billions of Sensor Data Points into Actionable Insights with InfluxDB
Session date: Dec 03, 2024 08:00am (Pacific Time)
Discover how Seadrill, an offshore drilling contractor providing services to the oil and gas industry, revolutionized their offshore drilling operations by transitioning from an overwhelmed SQL system to InfluxDB. Working with 22K data points per second, SeaDrill now efficiently monitors critical parameters across their global fleet of mobile drilling platforms in near real-time.
Join us to discover how Seadrill leverages Starlink, Azure, InfluxDB, and Grafana to process massive volumes of sensor data from their global operations, enabling precise equipment lifecycle analysis, operational excellence and enhanced troubleshooting for mobile offshore drilling units. We’ll demonstrate how this solution not only solved their data retention challenges but also provided near real-time visibility into critical operations, transforming raw data into actionable maritime intelligence.
Join us to learn about:
- Why Seadrill picked InfluxDB’s time series database for their data challenges
- How SeaDrill solved the challenge of processing billions of sensor readings annually
- How they built real-time visibility into their operations, saving over $12M
