Why I Joined InfluxData - Becky Rivera

During my interview process, I had the extreme pleasure of meeting with half of the executive team. While it was a lengthy process, it was the main reason why I decided to join InfluxData. As I spoke with leaders from engineering, sales and product, it was evident that there is something extremely special about this organization.

As my interviewers joined one by one, the interview was an overwhelmingly positive experience. I wasn’t endlessly grilled with questions that are typically asked during recruiting interviews. I had open-ended conversations with my interviewers about the problems each team was facing and how my previous experience might help to alleviate these issues. Each interviewer gave me a clear picture of what the company was like and how I could succeed and grow. I left the interview feeling like I could be supported at this organization and that people would genuinely care about my well-being.

It has been almost two months since I started, and this feeling of support and care has only grown stronger. Every single meeting that I attend is uplifting and everyone makes time to answer my endless list of questions. I’ve made my fair share of mistakes but I haven’t been shamed for them. Everyone leads with empathy and mutual respect. What’s special about this organization is that the values that were carefully chosen by its employees are actually followed every day.
